Hello, my name is Roderick Jonathan Gritten and I am a third year student studying BSc Design Technology at the University of Derby. This is a four year sandwich course which I am due to complete, May 2010.
From an early age I have always been taking things apart and trying to put them back together again (which didn't always work). I took Design Technology when I was at high school as an additional subject in 1998, and to this day, I still believe this is where I discovered my love for the subject. I then went on to Sixth Form College to study Design Technology as an A-level, which is where I won the North Norfolk Rotary Young Designer of the year award in 2003. The following year I was accepted into the The Norwich School of Art & Design where I specialised in Three Dimentional Design at BTEC Foundation level.
Designing is what I love to do and this degree has given me the opportunity to do just that. I thoroughly enjoy the course and know I made the right decision in choosing Derby as a place to study.
To this day my journey continues…
